A bit of history from 2005

Frislev is a Danish company that was established in 2005. At that time, the selection of shelving with room for hi-fi and pulling cables in shelving was limited. With experience from the radio industry and knowledge of customer installations, Claus Frislev developed a design that had to be minimalist and at the same time strong enough to hold the heavy amplifiers and speakers that had to be hidden behind fabric doors. This concept quickly took off and was sold in stores in both Denmark and Norway.

A bit of history from 2011

In 2011, the first of Frislev's built-in speakers were manufactured in the shelves. As a musician, Claus noticed that the sound from the good speakers changed significantly when placed behind fabric doors in a bookcase. Loudspeakers are not exactly designed and adapted for this location. We could clearly hear the difference as our speakers were now adapted to be in the bookcase. Now we really had something that was wife-friendly with good sound :-)

A bit of history from 2019

In 2019, we entered into a collaboration with some of Denmark's most talented sound engineers, who had helped develop well-known high-end brands. We had two systems developed: Concentus Two (C2), which only plays stereo, and Concentus Eight (C8), which can both play stereo and expand to full Dolby Atmos. Everything was carefully measured and adjusted.

The most important thing in the process was using our ears: Do the instruments sound right? After a few adjustments, we achieved great results. The systems should also be able to be used with Google Home and Apple Home and be able to stream music up to 24 bit/192 kHz.
